A domain, a story...

Passionate about viticulture and the terroir of the Mâconnais, Simon created in 2014 and outside the family framework, the Domaine des 3 Dames by taking over the vineyards following the retirement of two winegrowers.

Located in the village of Solutré-Pouilly, in Southern Burgundy, and at the foot of the majestic Roche de Solutré, our vineyard now extends over 7 hectares from Solutré-Pouilly to Pruzilly.

The name of the Domaine ” des 3 dames ” is first of all a beautiful tribute to the three sisters who own the vineyards of the domaine and who have thus allowed Simon to accomplish his dream of becoming a winegrower on the land that saw him grow up.

Secondly, the number 3 represents the 3 appellations that we started to cultivate: Mâcon Solutré-Pouilly, Saint-Véran and Pouilly-Fuissé.

But it is also a wink to the 3 rocks that gravitate around our vineyard.

Simon Ravaud

“Growing up in the middle of the Mâconnais vineyards and meeting people, I became curious about viticulture and oenology. I wanted to train in the most complete way possible: starting with a professional baccalaureate “Vine and Wine” and finishing my course with the diploma of oenologist. Meeting passionate winemakers gave me the same passion and the desire to express my vision of the terroir.

Simon is responsible for the cultivation of the vines and the vinification until the bottling at the Domain.

“I graduated from Lyon with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2013. Specialized in pharmaceutical industry and wishing to settle in the beautiful region of Simon, it was difficult for me to conceive both.

It is gradually and naturally that the Domaine des 3 dames appeared to me then as an evidence. Today, I am responsible for the administrative, commercial and communication part of our domain.”
